CLIENT: Dragon Self Mailer

The Challenge: When competition among direct marketing agencies is more fierce than it has every been…when potential clients barely have time to breathe, let alone meet…when prospects have ignored repeated attempts at contact via phone and e-mail…what can a growing but still fledgling agency do to generate face-to-face meetings with qualified leads?

After just over one (very successful) year in business, this was the daunting challenge we faced here at Dragon Direct.

Dragon in Action: We compiled a list of the 100 prospects we most wanted to talk with, then developed and executed a dimensional mailing built on the creative theme of "Dragon Punch." We believed that the intrusive format and somewhat whimsical presentation would get us beyond the gatekeepers and into the hands of our targets. Once there, we felt that the compelling offer - a $50 gift certificate to Legal Seafood, delivered when we met the prospect - would garner both attention and response.

The Result: The mailing generated a 75% response rate (75 out of 100). Six face-to-face meetings took place, and four new accounts were established.
